Must have September 5, 2010 slv As a nursing student I was looking for a good EKG book that was easy to understand. My professor suggested this book and after reading the reviews, I bought it. It is one of the best books that I have bought. Not only does it explain EKG's but it also helped to complete the picture on how fluids and electrolytes play a part in the functioning of the heart! I had several "ohhhh" moments while reading. Like previous reviews have said, it does explain EKG's as if you are a 5th grader. I really appreciated that, because then there was no question. It really breaks it down. Plus it shows you a picture, tells you what the picture is depicting, then asks you several questions about the picture. It's a good way to reinforce the information.
Easy Read and Logically Spelled Out August 25, 2010 D.O. In-Training You can't get an easier textbook to read. Each page has a diagram illustrating what the text is describing and the author includes some pneumonics for study aids. There are a few sample questions to check for understanding and quick, succinct reference guides at the back of the book. If you want to teach yourself how to read an EKG or if you simply want a handy reference, this is the book to get.
Dubins August 25, 2010 Lusky I found this book extremely helpful for beginners. He is the king of redundancy and that helps those with no EKG experience to learn a difficult topic. After reading only the book, with no prior knowledge of EKG's, I passed my EKG test. I would highly recommend this book to everyone of all different clinical skill levels.
Buy It August 22, 2010 T I wish I bought this book sooner. I'm halfway through nursing school and this book is the best book I have read so far. It is so easy to follow and understand. I feel so much more confident with the knowledge this book has given me and I'm only halfway through it. I wish my med/surg books were written in this fashion. Buy it, you will not regret it.
